The patient comes today for initial consultation for ALCAT testing. This is a 27-year-old female patient with complaints of constipation. She states that she has chronic constipation since she was a teenager. She has gas and bloating following meals. She has constipation alternating with diarrhea. She has chronic headaches at multiple times per week. She has had weight gain. She is unable to lose weight despite diet and exercise. In June, she had atelectasis and was on significant amount of bed rest and three weeks of antibiotics. She developed C. difficile infection and since then had chronic GI issues. She has severe fatigue associated with this and muscle and joint pains.

Gas and bloating.
Weight gain.
Chronic fatigue syndrome.

We will recommend compressive ALCAT testing. Venipuncture was performed today and sent to lab for analysis. She will return in two weeks with nutritionist for nutritional counseling and dietary planning.
