Gas and bloating

This is a 58-year-old female patient, who presents to the clinic today for ALCAT testing. She has chronic complaints of fatigue, acid reflux, and history of gastric ulcer. She has had weight gain 15 pounds over the last two years. She has chronic insomnia as well as gas and bloating with meals. She has had the symptoms on and off since 2002 and now progressively worsening. She has burning and sharp abdominal pains intermittently. Foods do tend to bring out symptoms and are relieved with medications. She has seen ear, nose and throat specialist previously. Her symptoms are not getting any better with time.

DIAGNOSES:
Gas and bloating.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Weight gain.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
We will recommend comprehensive ALCAT testing for this patient. Venipuncture was performed today and sent to the lab. She will follow up in two weeks with a nutritionist for her results and nutritional planning. If she any further issues, we will present back to the clinic.
